Guarantees and coverage of Snowcare

This article provides an overview of the main guarantees included in the Snowcare insurance policy, available in both Gold and Platinum versions. You will find coverage descriptions, limits, activation requirements, and claim procedures.

Both versions include the same guarantees, but some coverage limits differ. For all binding details, always refer to the official Information Sets.

Important note: all guarantees involving reimbursement or indemnity (such as Liability, Legal Protection, Medical Expenses, Rescue Services, and Refunds) can only be activated if ski patrol rescue (or 112/118 emergency services) has intervened. Exceptions: Orthopedic Second Opinion, Medical Repatriation, and Driver at Disposal.

1. Third-party Liability (RC)

What it covers
Covers unintentional damage caused to people or property while practising amateur skiing or snowboarding.

Limits and deductible

  • Gold: €150,000 per claim — 10% deductible (min. €500)
  • Platinum: €250,000 per claim — 10% deductible (min. €500)

2. Legal Protection

What it covers
Covers legal expenses needed to defend or assert your rights following an accident on the slopes.

Limits

  • Gold: €5,000
  • Platinum: €50,000

3. Emergency Medical Expenses

What it covers
Reimburses medical expenses sustained within 24 hours of injury, only at Snowcare-affiliated clinics.

Limits

  • Gold: €500
  • Platinum: €750

4. Orthopedic Second Opinion

What it covers
Provides access to an orthopedic specialist through teleconsultation following an injury.

5. Rescue on Ski Slopes – Italy

What it covers
Reimburses costs for toboggan rescue by ski patrol and any air rescue ordered by ski patrol.

Limits

  • Gold: €150 (toboggan) — €3,000 (air rescue)
  • Platinum: €275 (toboggan) — €5,000 (air rescue)

  • Contact ski patrol or 112/118. Do not call 24h Assistance.
  • You must obtain the rescue report.

6. Rescue on Ski Slopes – Abroad

What it covers
Covers toboggan rescue and/or air rescue provided by local authorities abroad.

Limits

  • Gold: €500 (toboggan) — €5,000 (air rescue)
  • Platinum: €1,100 (toboggan) — €10,000 (air rescue)

Attention

  • Call local ski patrol or the national emergency number.
  • Rescue documentation is required.

7. Driver at Disposal

What it covers
Provides a professional driver if the insured person is unable to drive after an injury.

Limits

  • The service cost is fully covered. Fuel, tolls, and extra charges remain at the insured’s expense.

8. Skipass Refund

What it covers
Refunds unused days of the Personal Skipass in case of injury, illness, or quarantine.

Attention

  • Valid only for Personal Skipasses (name/photo/code).
  • Requires ski patrol intervention.
  • Claims must be submitted at dsw.24hassistance.com.

9. Lesson and Equipment Rental Refund

Limits

  • €100 per day — €50 deductible

10. Medical Repatriation

What it covers
Organises and pays for medical repatriation to home or to a suitable medical facility.

Limits

  • Gold: €2,500
  • Platinum: €5,000

Attention

  • Valid only for Personal Skipasses.

11. Territorial Validity

  • Residents in Italy: coverage valid worldwide.
  • Residents abroad: coverage valid in Italy and neighbouring countries.

12. Main Exclusions

  • Professional sports or competitive races.
  • Unauthorized off-piste skiing.
  • Accidents without ski patrol intervention.
  • Use of alcohol or drugs.
  • Exceptional weather events (unless otherwise stated).

The Operations Centre is the only unit authorised to organise these services. It is active 7 days a week from 08:00 to 20:00.
